For the past 15 years Dauntsey’s has bought a team of students out to Nightingales Children’s Project, Romania to run a summer camp for local children. This camp is often the only ‘holiday’ these children get during the summer, it is a day camp which they attend from 9am till 1pm, then from 4pm till 7pm. The children do all kinds of fun activities run by the Dauntsey’s students and local High School students acting as translators.
Due to the Corona Virus the trip was sadly cancelled this year, but Dauntsey’s have still commited to raising as much money as possible for Nightingales and the projects they run, which are so close to the heart of many Dauntsey’s staff and ex-pupils. They have been unable to run their usual charity auction, so we are holding it online this year.
The money raised will go to support the girls in the Human Trafficking prevention scheme, which you can read about on the projects page of this website. If you would like more information about Nightingales and the work they do please do not hesitate to contact them.
These girls receive the support to help them make the positive choices in their lives that help them stay in education and gain employment. All the money raised will go directly to the girls and the activities run for them, as the administration costs are almost zero and the staff running this project are all volunteers.
Please help spread the word about the auction by sharing it on social media and sending it to friends and family, who I am sure will love the wide range of items that we have on offer.
